EKWB wanted to send over one of their highest spec gaming PCs, the Vanquish 295. It has an AMD 5950X and a NIVIDA 3090 RTX graphics card. We couldn't say no, but there were a few issues...

  • So he says the motherboard doesn't have onboard WiFi, so they installed an MSI WiFi card which makes sense to me. BUT he then says that they should NOT have put a WiFi card in. But why would he say that?? What am I missing here? IMHO If I was the customer, I would be disappointed if the $6k prebuilt computer I wanted didn't have built in WiFi.

    Don ArmstrongDon ArmstrongVor 6 Tage
    • I understood the hosts response to be that he didn't say they shouldn't have put in a wifi card at all, but he was more wondering why would EK go through the trouble of installing the MSI wifi addon card if it was possible to source motherboards with integrated WiFi already on the board since there are motherboards in the same price bracket that do have WiFi. Its pretty clear that EK is using motherboards they sourced for their Ryzen 3000 prebuilts to save on their cost.

  • I think the temps are high cause a single 360 radiator with hardware like that isn't ideal. They should've put another 360 on the bottom too.

Hmm I'll buy some more *VENGEANCE RGB RAM* so it can run Blender a bit better. I would buy the *DOMINATOR* but it's a bit too expensive." - "Let me just sit down and play a relaxing session of Cities Skylines on my *VANQUISH 295* gaming PC" - "My son's CPU was running a bit hot, so I bought him a *SCYTHE FUMA 2* cooler." - "I need a new monitor and this *PREDATOR* looks good"

  • Just because EK sponsors this stuff and sends you that for free shouldn't mean that you have to be biased. You can't say for sure whether it was damaged in shipping. And you are the reviewer, it's your goal to be objective. To be fair, you said that sth was wrong with this PC like 5-6 times during this video and the name says: THIS GAMING PC IS AWESOME. Now, I'm not saying it's not awesome, it sure LOOKS awesome, but that's not the title, is it? So, I would really like to see this bad boy in action once you have it fixed, reshipped or w/e. Please, don't spam advertising eyecatching phrases in the titles if something is actually wrong with the item.

  • I bit the bullet and got one of these about 2 months ago. Ordered it with an upgraded motherboard (thank you kind people at EWKB Gaming!). My case was not bent btw. I did put in an SSD from my old system with all my games on it, simple to do and well worth it. It is expensive but extremely well built no matter what the naysayers might think and instead of waiting to try and find the parts I needed to build one (looking at you 30 series Nvidia GPUs and Ryzen CPU...). Additionally, the water cooling loop keeps the system reliably cool even while OC'd. It has handled everything I have thrown at it extremely well. Oh yeah, I might add that EWKB Gaming is in Texas and they went through the big freeze and power outages and although it took them slightly longer they still got it to me relatively quickly.

  • Incredible case, and no complaints about the graphics card or processor, those are clearly top of the line! Agree with everyone else, the SSD/HDD combo is poor, no modern computer should include a HDD these days for anything other than backup purposes where required. Bigger and better SSDs required instead. Lots of RAM, but I was expecting it to be at least 3600, this isn't meant to be a PC of compromises! I thought the PSU might be Platinum or even Titanium considering the sort of build it is, but I suppose Gold is fine. Might be being a bit picky but for $6000 I think we ought to be!

  • For that system, thats a horrible memory setup, with ryzen you want 3600-3800mhz DDR4 at CL14 or CL15/16 range at the highest, so 3200 CL16-18-18 is not impressive, in fact my Corsair LPX 3200C16, was cheap ram, and those do that exact timings and speeds out of the box. I would think they knew to put some B die 3600C16 kit in there for maximum 1:1 ram/FCLK clockspeed setup.

We are trying our best to get Gaming PCs to gamers though and will pass on the price drops to consumers once hardware prices return to normal.
