Your videos are absolutely mesmerizing. Congrats! Keep it up
He looks like he was rejected from Game of Thrones Auditions.
First step buy a touchscreen monitor. Ebay sellers: let's step-up the price.
awesome!
Excellent! 7 ******* out of 5 Stars!
only thing missing is pieces of felt on the backside of the speakers....you don't want to scratch the brass framecorners of the screen every time you plug in the pin connectors
He's so sexy with that facial hair. He's got to stop
My phone doesnt have dex so can i still use this?
So tacky... What a waste of resources
Love to see your take on a DIY Cintiq.
it's pronounced brarse
Next project: Fit your PS5 into your invisible table PC.
This channel needs to be more popular! Keep up the great work!
Brilliant!
Hi i like It
Nice video! I think it would've been nice to secure the bottom edge of the panel with screws instead of soldering so you could replace or service the panel without de-soldering the brass
You could do a rivet and brass build for a steampunk feel. That would also mean you wouldn't need to solder anything else.
u´re amazing Matt, thanks for this videos!
You are a creative genius. Beautiful work, many thanks for sharing.
Wow!!!!!!!! Those speakers sound better than what is on my computer now!!! C'mon man...how could we tell how great they sound when we're listening through our own speakers? About as useful as TV commercials for TVs.
Man your video quality is so cool
Hi, Matt. Please make DIY Android Car Head Unit.
Great video very nice build Can you sayme what color its your wall
Excellent
Genius!
Brass boiiiiii .
With the price of the LCD panel/Controller and the Brass you could of bought a touch USB-C/HDMI Monitor.
A similar external monitor costs around $350. Even if you had to buy the screen, which is not the assumption here, you'd pay $30-50 for a 15" touch panel. The control board is around $30, and another $50 or so for the brass channels and plate. You won't total $350 unless you *_gold plate_* it :D And you cant' buy a *brass* touch USB-C/HDMI monitor anyway. This isn't about making the cheapest monitor, it's about having the _coolest_ monitor and making it yourself.
OMG amazing.
Matt, at first I already love these stuff. And then I found your youtube channel and watched almost every video in the channel. You inspired me and now I'm deciding to make this with wood and aluminium for a medium thickness and intermediate level. I'm only 14 though, so I can't cut things by myself. I'll have to take it outside to let them cut the wood and the aluminium. But can you answer my question please? Can I know what thickness the brass board and U channels are? And what size of the U channel did you use? Does it need to be 2 or 3mm thick? And can you add some purchasing links for the pin connectors? I also want to know what screws you used for this project because I'm not familiar with screws. Thanks for your time, and I hope to watch more cool videos like this. :))
I swear in a month this guy gonna be like "diy tesla with full self driving"
Matt, any reason why aluminium wouldn't work?
I didn't see you attached any touchscreen digitizer, so how could it became touchscreen?
Most touchscreens meant for laptops have it integrated into the panel.
Great, another cool project I would never build.
Can't find LP156WF6 SP M2 Control board :(
Looks amazing but it’ll tarnish naturally over time requiring polishing regularly 😒
His English is atrocious.
lol why brass? It's not so cheap and easy to find, and it's heavy. Why not plexiglass, pmma, acrylic sheet that every pc modder using easily. It's hard, tough easy cut, bend, glued, drill etc.And can be paint sprayed to look like everything. Even aluminium is better material for diy monitor, than brass...
Can you make a wireless charging phone hit the like if you guys agree with me thanks :)
This guy’s voice is orgasmic
I think it's fair to say you could go on to be someone like Sir Clive Sinclair.
Great video as always delivered.
Can you link where you bought your lamp or was it custom built by yourself?
if you want to avoid displacing brass you have already soldered together you should try putting wet napkins on the joints you don't want to melt, it works surprisingly well.
are there methods for creating monitors/ just a regular screen out of smaller screens? Like if you took apart a camera screen or a screen from game systems like a Nintendo ds? I don't think they make control boards for these types of screens so if there ARE ways to do this I'd really like to know. Thanks!
next up, gold
Congratulations your video is now on hackaday website.🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
😘
how you made the touchscreen? that i didnt get
Beautiful build! The brass should be clearcoated after polishing so that it doesn't turn green/black over time. Unless that's the look you're after. I don't judge.
I love how you use different materials in your projects
How do you fasten the last U-channel? I would be hesitant to solder it with the lcd panel installed. Glue? Screws?
I decided to make a tech DEhave channel because of you, you are the best channel I hope I am half as good as you are!
What if He will replace his invisible Monitor with this. And with his invisible PC? That could be more awesome as his Desktop will be invisible and it's Monitor's touchscreen and with Type C USB. That will be the most innovative Technology and Design I watched.
How did you make it a touch screen
*problem* : * exists * *this guy* : " hold my brass "
Can you do a room tour and show us all of your projects you had done in the past few years?
If only I had the materials 😥😥
i love it... i think i just found my next project .
I'm asking that question again, was the screen already a touchscreen one, or is the LP156FW4 making it touchscreen?
He ripped off the Laptop's monitor but he decided to buy a 4k res. Monitor with touchscreen in Ebay. It costed him $179 and that monitor is sale for that price.
Already a touchscreen. If you want to upgrade a monitor to a touchscreen you have to add another layer, the touch foil..
The video shows that he took it off the laptop 🤔
He buy A Touchscreen monitor in Ebay.
A fancy touch screen with greasy fingerprints and Covid19 virus is just what I need ;-)
You let strangers sneeze on your monitors? o_O
where can i get get this monitor? I would like to order one for me and do the same.
On ebay. The link is on the description. And it costs you a hundred and more bucks
😘
this is awesome to watch
MATE, you can buy a usb c monitor for 100 bucks minus the painstaking fun of making one
Build a Talking Teddy Bear with AI interface
Lol can I buy that, I love it 😳
This was so remarkable I tried to like this video 2 separate times on impulse.
That's some impressive ish I must say.
Matt I'm still waiting on my Vewlix easy to follow arcade cabinet build mate. Make it happen! xD
bro I watched half a second of this video saw the quality of it and instantly liked it , fastest Like on youtube Ive ever given
And now depending on how workable I personally find it, I might be switching to brass for some clips and hinges I'll have to hand make.
Wait, how did it become a touch screen without a separate digitiser panel on front???? No way! 🤔
The lcd probably has a built in digitizer
how are you going to deal with patina? would a clear lacquer be practical as long as the bare brass was 101% cleaned of all finger print oils?
I have a 1st gen iMac 24" whose gpu died years ago - been waiting for a practical method to use the screen (possibly the remote control, speakers and i/o) as a monitor as the panel was extremely good - anyone know if there's a modern, affordable build for such?
Sadly mac displays usually have proprietary adapters. Shocking. I know.
Thank you for calling my last name beautiful
thats amazing
Incredible execution! Well done my man. Very well done ;)
How much did it cost to make?
This is absolutely amazing! It is a very pleasure to discover contents like this on youtube! Love it!
I would have liked more detail on just how/where you soldered the bottom piece of brass in.
Nice video, the brass looks alot better then the older model indeed. And i see u managed to get a ps5 as well, which can be a project of it’s own. 😆
i would love that you make video of gaming mouse like how to change
Absolutely fabulous. I've been considering selling my old 4k laptop, but don't know if the cracked screen will work for this
if you took apart an old samsung phone that supported dex, you could add it add the back along with a 20,000MAH powerbank and make it a beast of a standalone portable laptop. it would be a little thicker but it wont be much really
🤯🤯🤯🤯😵😵😵😵
The speakers were the perfect touch
wow can this be made wireless?
You're the Bob Ross of the IT, and engineering department
Beautiful job!
Nice
13:04 And so begun the STEAMPUNK area for DIY Perks!
Very nice 👌
Todos tus trabajos son impecables y muy buenos.
SO THAT’S WHY there’s always a huge border at the bottom!!,
I'm super impressed, but with videos like these, I've listened it's usually important to note what they don't show you. He's willing to show and describe the process of using a blowtorch and solder, but there's nothing on making the cutouts. That probably means it was really difficult and would be detrimental to a "look how easy and beautiful this is" video.
He's making the cutouts at 6:00. You just mark the position and shape of the cutout and then use a handsaw and a file. It's not like you need a tutorial on that if you're welding brass and building electronics :)
Absolutely fabulous. I've been considering selling my old 4k laptop, but don't know if the cracked screen will work for this
Nice video, the brass looks alot better then the older model indeed. And i see u managed to get a ps5 as well, which can be a project of it’s own. 😆
One of the best DIY videos
Great project! I'm definitely going to build my own version of it. Is it possible to use usb-c not only for data but also for powering instead of the battery? A "one-cable" solution would be awesome!
I am speechless you actually building this there’s no catch to this ??? 😞🤯🥺 Amazing
Sir can you please bulid a diy stylus pencils and you are excellent thank you
Nice work bro
So its not a concern than brass is a conductor? Given all the ports and circuitry I’m just curious
