I forgot to mention its filtration which was as
good or better than all the previous Dysons.
It passed the for test with no visible fog.
I also forgot to mention the noise level, which seemed more quiet than previous Dysons

  • I wonder, can the v15 fluffy head be used on the v11? I recall the v11 was kind of missing this head altogether, except in the UK.

  • I like how Dyson uses the imperfections in the plastic as a design que, when it's really only a defect in the injection molding process because they are using the cheapest materials possible when possible.

  • Welp, you finally got me. I haven’t purchased a new vacuum in years. The last vacuum I (accidentally) purchased was a really crappy Eureka that came in a $5 grab bag purchase. Unfortunately my wife loved it for its convenience compared to our Miele canister. So that vacuum (aka “dust dispersion tool”) ended up getting used more often than the Miele (well, that and the fact that she can SEE the dirt being picked up in the canister as opposed to all of it being in a bag.) It dawned on me how our carpets were suffering so I finally caved and decided to get something everybody (kids included) would use. I decided on a v15 but wouldn’t click “buy” until this full review was released. I also realized I have come to trust your reviews more than anything else on the matter, so here we are... I bought it hours after this was released. So far it has completely lived up to expectations - probably exceeded them. But I now also understand why you seem to give high praises to something as simple as docking stations with excellent tool management. I suppose that’s the only downside to this. Well, that and I’m going to want to buy another battery I think...

  • Really great review, BUT about your conclusion, "expensive but better value than the V11 Torque; more bang for the buck." Please explain why because the review really sounded more like "a step up" but not hugely. If you're paying a large premium it should be really better; not just give you a fancy screen of info that is really just for geeks. Please respond, I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this.

A couple of things I noticed based on this new vaccume which I will be getting - They are moving to a cordless technology, potentially on many things - They are moving towards a connected-devices for Dyson products, meaning an dyson app on your phone that tracks more stuff.

  • @7:35 I think what's happening is that the hair strands are too short, so the "comb" is straightening the hairs to the comb while still being stuck to the bristles. I think that this device works by continuously unsticking the hair from the bristles that by being "screw shaped" just get stuck further and further. Usually used human hair is not that straight and by being on the floor for some time, it's already tangled.

  • I just got mine currently letting it fully charge, this is my first premium vacuum the most I have spent before is like $150. It’s pretty awesome because of the cordless nature I’ve found my floors are overall cleaner because it’s so quick and convenient to just grab this for a little mess much faster than a broom. I was going to get the shark apex but after seeing all the negative reviews on shark brand I opted to go dyson, I haven’t been disappointed yet but it is expensive and I know you get what you pay for.

    • @Frank Stallone My friend and housemate got the Dyson v11 when I got the tineco s12 during black friday. Tineco certainly has a lot of accessories but dyson's part fit nicely when putting on and taking off. Sometimes I have to wrestle with the parts on Tineco sometimes. Performance wise, they both do the job, but tineco has the led on the attachment and I think that helps a lot to see how dirty/clean the floor is. Dyson's container is much easier to dump and most of the time clean out. Tineco's container is small, but removeable parts for easier cleaning. Had 1 mishap when trying to put it back (thought it was all nicely put back, but nope). Extra filter and cleaning toolkit on Tineco was a plus. Movement and turns on Dyson was very nice and smooth and satisfying (doesn't hinder performance for the most part) but Tineco's wheel can get a bit noisy. Tineco's anti hair tangle brush was very nice, much better than Dyson's brush. Big plus fighting long hairs and loads of pet hair I agree on having opposing reviews. I think customer service can be important as well when something goes wrong. Got the Tineco on walmart, and their label was not clear at all. Thought I got the soft roller version, but it wasn't. Talked to the customer service and they were willing to ship that out with some convincing.

      RedGaiRedGaiVor Tag
    • @RedGai Thanks for the feedback. I researched the Dyson v15 detect as a secondary cleaning unit. Performance Reviews was the only negative reviews with it's metrics (that delta) and I simply could not figure out why 90% of DEhave reviews favored this unit over the LG A10 (for instance) which PR says is objectively a better unit for the money. I always look for opposing reviews when doing research for a new product (when I have the luxury of that kind of time). I have heard good things about the Tineco.

      Frank StalloneFrank StalloneVor 2 Tage
    • @Frank Stallone Haha, I have a Tineco S12 and I preferred the rotating brush over the fluffy brush. My flooring are wood and granite only. Recently got a rug but before that, I still liked the rotating brush more. I have the upright dyson DC14 animal and sometimes it fails a lot to pick up things than the tineco and end up using the wand on dyson. (I do have to note, most of the stuff I vacuum is dog fur) I do think you're right on having delta and boolean for comparison and i'm sure you're right on lupe's marketing testing strategy (i'm not too big of a fan on it) but I think it does give more tool for comparison on non lupe vacuums. But it still came down to technology and how well it cleans. It's often why I try to find as many review videos on certain devices just to see how people use the device since it can vary so much. Not sure how much time each test would take but I like to see as much real world use as possible and also have the video show me how they use it so I can make my judgement.

      RedGaiRedGaiVor 3 Tage
    • @RedGai We could make an argument against VacuumGuide's comment here: "The cleaning principle of an upright is based on a sweep-and-vibrate action using a rotating brushroll or beater bar. While this doesn’t help the suction, it allows you to collect more." A rotating head can agitate carpet and therefore bring more things to the surface to be sucked, but on barefloors (especially on units where you cannot turn off tthe rotating brush) it can also unfortunately push material around the floor instead of sucking it up. We've probably seen many tests that show this. PR's argument is bare floor brush heads should not have rotating brushes and I tend to agree with that argument (Sorry Dyson v15's fluffy brush head). As for, "Which Vacuum Has the Most USABLE Suction" a few things worth noting here. One, he's talking about a, "sealed suction test". This is a boolean on/off variable. That is as opposed to Performance Reviews who is talking about the delta between having 'load' on the vacuum and a sealed suction. PR's argument is the boolean test is not conclusive but one should also consider the delta. The delta on the central vacuum was impressive. Back to VW's video. Great points on business end/brush/heads. I can't argue with that logic. The heads are important and a part of testing I think is important to the overall performance. Different than what I have been arguing but mostly because I have hard floors and am not a fan of anything with a rotating brush (as mentioned above). This, "unsealed suction test" he borrowed from another manufacture -- is most likely from their marketing department. It's the same tests we know not to trust from marketing teams. I don't know that I agree that it is a better quantifier of a vacuums performance. Update: I started this paragraph before the end result -- imagine my shock to see the Lupe wins this test! This could further make my point! A manufacture's marketing team came up with a test that it's own device wins? Nooooooo... I have been working in marketing way to long hahaha! 100% agree that comparing cordpress stick vacuums to uprights are typically based on the formers highest settings with battery life that is seriously limited. Spot on. "In order for cordless vacuums to compete with uprights they will need to be very efficient. They will need to find a way to equal the usable suction performance of an upright while as using as less power as possible to sustain battery life." is probably the most conclusive points for me in the entire video. "That is all about the head design." is arguable to me as a solution to, "... equal the usable suction performance...". If you are kicking around material with your moving brush head, then you are not cleaning my floor. VW flat out recommends fluffy type roller heads if you have mostly hardwood floors (raises hand), this is 100% the opposite recommendation of Performance Reviews who says hardwood floors needs a head that doesn't move therefore you need the power. This goes back to our original discussion relating to sealed suction tests and the water test delta. TL;DR I do think VW is being as accurate and consistent as possible. I believe that about Performance Reviews, too -- which is why I am staggered to see results like how opposed these two reviewers are on rotating heads on hardwood floors and general consensus on the Dyson products.

      Frank StalloneFrank StalloneVor 3 Tage
    • @Frank Stallone May be for straight suction power, but not necessary how clean in real world and comes down to technology to make it easier to vacuum and why hoover says upright vacuum with at least 100 airwatt is plenty and 220 for upright. Vacuumsguide website "Canisters are more powerful than upright models, because they need to compensate the longer reaching distances resulted from connecting the hose and telescopic wand. Upright vacuum cleaners have the cleaning head and the brushroll much closer to the bag. The cleaning principle of an upright is based on a sweep-and-vibrate action using a rotating brushroll or beater bar. While this doesn’t help the suction, it allows you to collect more. The bags/plastic bins are also much bigger with upright vacuum cleaners. As a result, uprights don’t need the same amount of suction as their smaller brothers" Vacuum Wars also made a video about he's new testing procedure "Which Vacuum Has the Most USABLE Suction? 46 Vacuums TESTED! - NERDS ONLY!" Would like your opinion on it

Performance wise are close to Dyson except hepa filter are non guaranteed as good as a Dyson. Dyson is good if you are allergic and critical to these kinda things other than that it’s pretty pricy. It’s funny to see Dyson copying its copiers. I think it’s brilliant lol. Airbot and Dibea are the alternatives which one up Dyson and caused Dyson to adapt with this detect version lol. I personally own the V11 ABSOLUTE. I have the Dyson at home. And 3 airbot and dibea in the office. Suction power is negligible for Dyson and those chinese Brand’s honestly. Love the fact that the Auto Mode’s suction increases when there is more dirt and dust on the rug or in the floor. V11 would not increase suction in floors, only in carpet.
