  • Modern Western Economy. Buying cheap garbage from China, putting a badge on it and selling it for 10 times the price. The main problem are the parasites with their thousands of useless rules and taxes. That's why almost no real production is possible here any longer and companies are almost forced to so stuff like that. It's ridiculous.

  • It's not because you made a video on them, it's because they're different companies selling the same product which is sold by a third party company in China for super cheap.

  • I came into possession of one of these without any brand markers whatsoever, bought out of curiosity. Seeing this video, I attempted to open mine by hitting it around the spot shown in the video while pulling at the shackle in the closed position. Didn't have a urethane hammer handy - but had a small 1kg padded dumbell. I've thus far been unable to get mine open the easier way - I hit it hard enough to give it scratches, tho not hard enough to dent it I guess, .probably am not doing this correctly? Or must you use a padded hammer? The manual says its Tuya branded (apparently it's a Tuya Bluetooth Fingerprint Padlock), but nothing's on the box. I might have gotten the one rare one that does actually work, tho that's just the nature of clones I think. Just in case, I'll use it only on doors I need to keep closed but with nothing important behind them.

  • Actually that looks like a pretty useful lock and the ease at which it can be opened and re-used could be marketed as a feature not a flaw. If this lock is sold cheaply it could be ideal for putting on something you want to keep pets or very young children out of while making it easy to get into if for some reason the finger print scanner fails. Obviously it shouldn't be marketed to anyone who wants to keep something valuable safe. What do you think?

I see locks in that list occasionally but my channel is more tech focused so that is what I see most often.

Everyone have their valuable stuff stolen but school still insisted everyone using the same model. Some student got fed up and switched to keyed locks that's 3/8" or 1/2" thick so the school custodians couldn't cut it. The school didn't do anything about the thugs because they are in the school temperately until expelled to another school

  • At the nine dollar price point, this might be worth it to me to get just to tinker with. For example, maybe disassemble the mechanism and try to build it into something that actually worked. I just checked Amazon thought: they want closer to fifty dollars, which is far more than I'd ever pay for something intended for tinkering. I'd pay that for a lock offering kick ass security, but not for a toy with a known flaw.
